Development of Solid Oxide Electrolysis and Reversible Solid Oxide Cell and Stack Technologies at Nexceris, LLC

Over the past several years, Nexceris has been developing high performance Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells “SOEC” and stacks leveraging materials, electrode, interlayer development along with Nexceris’ power-density stack design. Observed durability improvements demonstrated on both single cells short will be addressed. Stack intent downselected electrode sets were scaled to 42 96 cm 2 active area cells. These implemented into short-stacks operated continuously in SOEC mode at ~1.3 V for ≥ 500 hours <5%/kh degradation. The resulting subscale demonstrations provided promising baseline a platform future cell development. RSOC tests recently initiated dynamic operation.
